About The Practice
Welcome to Aquila Dental! We offer general dentistry, and advanced cosmetic, and restorative services.
Cosmetic reconstructive dentistry is an artistic endeavor as is reflected in our office decor and ambiance. We want our patients to feel relaxed and confident. We participate in continuing education programs on the latest developments to serve you better. We feel that this training is vital in a health services field that is undergoing change with new discoveries and techniques.
Communicating what can be done for patients is a challenge. Dr. Higgs always takes the time to discuss what can be done for each individual patient. You can view before and after photos of actual patients who have had the same or similar work performed. Additionally, photographs of our patients’ new smiles are displayed throughout the office so you can glimpse the beauty that a well designed smile imparts.
The Aquila Dental staff are focused on your making your visit as stress free as possible. We provide you with gentle and personalized dental care that meet our extremely high standards for excellent dentistry. Visualization is the best form of communication. Intraoral cameras in all treatment rooms help patients view teeth during the examination.

Sandy spends her free time tending to her wonderful garden. She’s also a talented musician and plays both the cello and piano. Her go-to travel destination is Hawaii, and she loves to offer recommendations to anyone planning a visit. She enjoys the peace and quiet of her home, but always loves a visit from her daughter and step-grandchildren.
Donna works hard to ensure that our patients get the healthcare they need at a price they can afford. After 25 years in dentistry, Donna knows how to create financial plans to help every person that walks through our office get the best care possible. She enjoys working with our patients and learning about their lives while advising them on budgeting for future dental visits.
While originally from Ripon, Wisconsin, Donna now has family all over the US. She frequently travels to visit them all and has managed to pass through almost every state. She loves to visit State Parks all around the US and stop in at local diners. When at home, Donna enjoys watching sports but also stays busy through home decorating and gardening. She has four adult children and six grandchildren so most of her quality time is spent with family.
Rita’s warm and caring personality has been a great addition to our team! She has worked in the dental field for over 20 years and is still passionate about helping others with their oral health. She loves spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and volunteering in the Chandler community.
Dentistry has changed immensely since Jan started in the industry 35 years ago. As a seasoned dental assistant, her experiences ensures she gets the little details right. She knows what will help all her patients feel safe and valued. Jan has many quotes from her time in dentistry but her favorite is “Let your smile change your world, but don’t let the world change your smile.”
Watching NASCAR and Football are Jan’s favorite ways to spend her weekends, especially when she’s with her three dogs, Sebastian, Kasey and Lucy. She dotes on her ‘furbabies’ and embraces being ‘that crazy dog-lady’. Jan doesn’t travel much without her dogs but dreams of one day visiting Ireland.
Born and raised in Mesa, Patricia loves her home and loves serving her community with Aquila Dental. With 13 years of experience as a Dental Assistant, Patricia intuitively knows what her patients need. One of her passions is helping patients understand how to improve their oral health. She’s motivated by the new smiles of her patients and loves watching the immediate transformation in their confidence.
Even when she’s not working, Patricia is always busy. Between home improvements, arts and crafts, and organizing events, she never has a dull moment. When she can make time, her family loves to travel to Show Low or other outdoorsy places. Patricia’s incredibly proud of her two young boys, Samuel and Vincent, and will brag about them when given the chance.

Her curiosity and genuine interest is refreshing, and she’s always finding unique ways to promote Aquila Dental. As a people person, she knows how to connect with all our patients and is an asset to our team.
Rikelle is an amazing mom! But with most of her kids away at college, she’s embraced her creative side and is frequently found with a paintbrush in hand. Getting lost in her work results in a few late nights, but she’s always proud of her accomplishments. Rikelle loves to travel and has many countries left on her bucket list. But while she’s at home, she keeps busy caring for her two dogs and two cats.

What Our Patients Are Saying
While we like to believe the smile says it all, we’ve had really positive feedback from our patients as well! See what they have said about their experience in our office and the service of our team. If you’re a returning patient we’d love to hear your story as well. We’re always interested in hearing what you have to say.
We were able to use a three dimensional wax model of the intended changes to show Peter a more symmetrical, balance smile. Sedation Dentistry allow for a very quick and easy transformation. The results were amazing!
